Abhyanga means full body oil massage by one or more therapists. Our treatment calls for one therapist working on one side of the body at a time using warmed aromatic oils to nourish the skin and mobilize deeper tissues. During the massage marmas (secret energy points) are used to freshen and revitalize the body.
Finally, a warmed ubtan, herbal powder, is sprinkled over the whole body to polish the skin leaving you feeling light, energized and relaxed. This abhyanga treatment is deeply revitalizing and relaxing whilst at the same time being gently cleansing and detoxifying. The use of marma points, customized quality oils and herbal ubtan leaves the client feeling clear, calm, strengthened and more balanced on a deep level. Here in the West few of us are so fortunate to have this type of support, although many Ayurvedic lifestyle followers massage themselves daily or at least regularly with warmed oil. Warm oil massage has always been a popular treatment in spas worldwide.
In recent years Abhyanga, the Ayurveda oil massage performed by one or two therapists, has become one of the best known and loved Ayurvedic treatments. Unlike Swedish massage, Abhyanga uses oils that are custom blended for a client’s body and skin type.
The stokes are conducted away from the heart and follow the flows of the body’s subtle energies rather than just the circulation. This exotic and peacefully effective treatment works not only on the body. It also offers benefits for the mind and deep into the soul, as it has long been recognized as essential to a long, healthy and happy life. For more details http://www.ayurvedasbeautycare.com
